GTM Plays + Zoho CRM integration

Create or update Zoho CRM Leads from LinkedIn prospects found by GTM Plays, through your own API client, in any Zoho data centre. Setup steps and mapping.

The GTM Plays Zoho CRM integration creates a Lead in Zoho CRM for every lead your LinkedIn agents find, and updates the existing Lead instead when the email already exists. It connects through an API client you create in the Zoho API Console, supports six Zoho data centres and sends data one way, from GTM Plays to Zoho.

What the integration does

Zoho CRM describes itself as a CRM with built-in AI agents, automation and reporting that integrates with more than 1,200 business apps (zoho.com/crm, checked October 2026). GTM Plays finds people on LinkedIn who show buying signals, scores their fit and runs outreach. This integration places them in your Leads module, ready for your Zoho workflows. See every connection on integrations.

What syncs

Data flows one way, from GTM Plays to Zoho CRM.

GTM Plays field Zoho CRM Lead field
First name First_Name
Last name Last_Name (falls back to first name or email)
Company name Company ("[not provided]" if missing)
Job title Designation
Work email Email
Phone Phone
Company website Website
Company industry Industry
(fixed value) Lead_Source = GTM Plays
Headline, signal, GTM Plays score and reasons, LinkedIn URL Description

Duplicates. GTM Plays uses Zoho's upsert with Email as the duplicate check. A new email creates a Lead; an existing email updates that Lead with the fields above. Empty values are never sent, so a missing phone number will not wipe one you already have.

When leads are sent

  • New leads, automatically. With "Automatically send new contacts" switched on (it is on by default), every new lead your agents find is sent as it arrives. Contacts you import into an agent count as new leads too.
  • One contact at a time. Open any contact's drawer and choose Send to… to send just that person, whether or not automatic sending is on.

Delivery runs in the background after the action that caused it, so finding or importing leads never waits on Zoho CRM. The result of the last delivery (time, status and any error) shows on the Zoho CRM card in Settings → Integrations.

How to set it up

  1. Open GTM Plays. Go to Settings → Integrations → Zoho CRM, choose your Data centre and copy the Redirect URI.
  2. Create an API client. In the Zoho API Console (api-console.zoho.com) choose Add Client → Server-based Applications. Use GTM Plays as the name, your site as the homepage and paste the redirect URI.
  3. Copy the client ID and secret into GTM Plays.
  4. Connect. Approve access in Zoho; you return to GTM Plays when it is done. GTM Plays asks only for the Leads module and read access to the current user.
  5. Press Check connection. It confirms access without creating a Lead.

Data centres. Pick the domain you sign in at: United States (zoho.com), Europe (zoho.eu), India (zoho.in), Australia (zoho.com.au), Japan (zoho.jp) or Canada.

Use cases

  • Assignment rules and blueprints. Leads arrive with Lead Source "GTM Plays", so your existing Zoho rules can route them.
  • Context for follow-up. The Description holds the buying signal and score reasons, so reps know why to reach out.
  • Always current. Re-sending a lead through Send to… refreshes its title, company and other fields in Zoho.
  • Teams outside the US. Data centre support suits teams in India, Europe and APAC that run Zoho locally. See our India lead generation tools guide for more.

Good to know

  • GTM Plays writes to the Leads module only; it does not create Contacts, Accounts or Deals.
  • Replies are not written to Zoho; use Slack or a webhook for reply alerts.
  • GTM Plays does not book meetings by itself.

Security and data handling

  • Your client secret and tokens are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and used only on GTM Plays' servers.
  • Requests go only to the Zoho accounts and API hosts for the data centre you chose.
  • Disconnect any time from Settings → Integrations; Leads already in Zoho stay there.

Troubleshooting

The integration card in Settings → Integrations shows the last delivery and the error message, if any. The common ones:

  • "The key was rejected (401)". The key was revoked, expired or mistyped. Paste a new one and press Verify.
  • "The key is missing a permission this needs (403)". Give the key the access listed in the setup steps, then verify again.
  • Rate limiting (429). The service asked GTM Plays to slow down. The current delivery stops and the message shows on the card; later leads go out with the next delivery.
  • "The service redirected the request". Usually the wrong account region or URL. GTM Plays never follows redirects with your key attached.
  • Redirect errors. Check that the data centre matches the Zoho domain you sign in at.
  • "No refresh token was issued". Connect again and approve offline access when Zoho asks.
  • "Zoho CRM rejected a lead". Zoho refused that record and the message on the card gives its reason.
