The best Clay alternatives depend on whether you want to build. Clay is infrastructure for GTM engineers: data from 200+ vendors, AI research agents and visual workflows. If you would rather not build, GTM Plays is a packaged agent that finds intent signals, scores fit against your ICP, and writes and sends LinkedIn messages for you.
What Clay does well
According to clay.com, Clay is "infrastructure to get any data, run agentic workflows, and launch GTM plays". It offers:
- Data: one contract to buy data from 200+ data and AI vendors in its marketplace, and signals built from anything on the internet;
- Agents: Claygent research agents for account research, scoring and personalised outreach;
- Orchestration: a visual canvas to build plays with clicks, code or chat;
- Activation: integrations to trigger emails and ads, including ad sync to LinkedIn, Meta and Google, and an email sequencer;
- Use cases: TAM sourcing, inbound enrichment and routing, lead scoring, automated outbound, CRM enrichment and rep productivity.
It says it is trusted by more than 500,000 GTM teams, and lists a 14-day Pro trial with no credit card required.
Why teams look for a Clay alternative
- Building takes skill and time. Clay rewards a GTM engineer. Founders and small teams may not have one.
- Credits and vendors add up. Data from many providers is powerful but needs managing. Check Clay's pricing page for how it bills.
- It is a layer, not the whole motion. You still need a sending tool and someone to write and review messages.

Clay pricing (as of Oct 2026)
Clay publishes its plans on clay.com/pricing:
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 500 actions and 100 data credits a month, unlimited seats, 200 rows per table |
| Launch | From $167/month | 15,000 actions a month, with higher tiers available |
| Growth | From $446/month | 40,000 actions a month, with higher tiers available |
| Enterprise | Custom | Volume, security and support terms |
There is a 14-day trial, and annual billing saves 10%. Actions are spent when a table runs an enrichment, an AI step or an integration, and data credits are spent on vendor data. Your real cost depends on how many rows you push through and how many steps each row runs, so model a typical month before you commit.
The best Clay alternatives in detail
Seven alternatives, from packaged agents to databases and signal platforms. Descriptions and prices come from each vendor's own site, checked in October 2026.
GTM Plays
What it is: an AI agent for LinkedIn. It finds people showing intent signals, scores each one for fit against your ICP, writes a message for each person and sends it from your own LinkedIn account. Replies come into one inbox, where you take over. It does not book meetings by itself.
Pricing: Pro is $149 a month after a 7-day free trial, and each extra agent is $59 a month. Live Leads, a one-off extraction of a LinkedIn company page's followers or a post's engagers, is paid per lead with credits and is separate from Pro.
Best for: founders and small teams who want signal-led LinkedIn outreach without building workflows.
Integrations and exports: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Attio, folk, Breakcold, Instantly, Smartlead, SmartReach, HeyReach, Slack, Clay and Zapier, plus webhooks, a REST API and an MCP server. CSV export, and credits for email and phone enrichment. Live Leads exports in Clay, Instantly and Smartlead formats.
Limits: it is not a contact database to browse, and it has no built-in email sequencer or dialer; for email it connects to tools such as Instantly, Smartlead and SmartReach.
Apollo.io
What it is: an AI GTM system with a database of 240M+ contacts and 30M+ accounts, email sequencing, a dialer, buying signals and AI agents, according to apollo.io.
Pricing (as of Oct 2026, apollo.io/pricing): a Free plan, Basic at $49 a month and Professional at $99 a month on monthly billing, plus a Custom plan through sales. All seats on an account must be on the same plan.
Best for: teams who want one database and email engine.
Limits: it is database- and email-led rather than LinkedIn-first.
Valley
What it is: signal-led outbound that researches prospects, checks fit and drafts LinkedIn and email messages in your voice for review, according to joinvalley.co.
Pricing (as of Oct 2026, joinvalley.co/pricing): Starter is $199 per seat a month ($149 billed quarterly) and is LinkedIn only. Plus is $299 per seat a month and adds 1,000 emails a month and onboarding. Growth is $499 per seat a month and adds monthly credits. Scale is custom for five seats or more. The 7-day trial requires a payment method.
Best for: teams who want pre-built signal plays across LinkedIn and email.
Limits: one seat connects one LinkedIn account, and discovery and enrichment use credits.
Common Room
What it is: a buyer-intelligence platform that unifies many signal sources, with a 400M+ contact directory, buying-committee mapping and AI research, according to commonroom.io.
Pricing (as of Oct 2026, commonroom.io/pricing): Essential is $2,500 a month billed annually, with 5 seats and up to 100k contacts. Advanced (15 seats) and Enterprise (30 seats) are custom.
Best for: larger go-to-market teams with community, product and web signals to unify.
Limits: it is priced and built for teams, not solo founders.
PhantomBuster
What it is: an automation platform of ready-made "Phantoms" and workflows for extraction, enrichment and outreach across LinkedIn and other sites, according to phantombuster.com.
Pricing (as of Oct 2026, PhantomBuster's plan guide): Start is $69 a month (20 execution hours, 5 slots), Grow is $159 (80 hours, 15 slots) and Scale is $439 (300 hours, 50 slots), with about 20% off annually. A 14-day free trial is followed by a limited free plan.
Best for: growth teams who want flexible building blocks.
Limits: you design and maintain the automations, and usage is capped by execution time.
Teamfluence
What it is: LinkedIn engagement tracking across your posts, your team's posts, competitors, influencers, keywords and ads, with contact enrichment, according to teamfluence.com.
Pricing (as of Oct 2026, teamfluence.com/pricing): from 1 October 2026, a plan at 449€ a month includes 1,000 qualified leads a month and unlimited seats, with extra lead buckets available. It offers price matching and free migration for former Trigify customers.
Best for: teams who want detailed LinkedIn engagement monitoring.
Limits: it surfaces leads; you still need a way to run outreach.
LinkedIn Sales Navigator
What it is: LinkedIn's own prospecting product, with advanced search filters, saved lists, and lead and account alerts, according to LinkedIn.
Pricing (as of Oct 2026, LinkedIn's compare-plans page): Core starts at US$119.99 a month or US$1,079.88 a year per license. Advanced starts at US$159.99 a month or US$1,799.88 a year per license. LinkedIn notes these are estimates and may exclude taxes.
Best for: reps who research and message accounts by hand.
Limits: it does not write or send outreach for you, and LinkedIn prohibits scraping it.
When GTM Plays is the better fit
- You want buying signals turned into conversations without designing the workflow.
- You sell on LinkedIn and want messages sent from your own account.
- You want replies in one inbox, where you take over. GTM Plays does not book meetings for you.
Pro is $149 a month after a 7-day free trial, and each extra agent is $59 a month.
When Clay is still the better fit
- You have a GTM engineer and many data sources to combine.
- You need custom enrichment, scoring and routing across inbound and outbound.
- You want to run plays on email, ads and other channels as well as LinkedIn.
Many teams use both: Clay for data and scoring, and a LinkedIn tool for conversations. See our lead generation tools guide.
Migration checklist: switching from Clay
- List which Clay tables actually feed pipeline. Many workspaces run tables nobody uses any more.
- Export the enriched rows you want to keep to CSV.
- Write down your ICP rules from Clay formulas and AI columns, so you can set the same criteria in the new tool.
- Repoint CRM and sequencer syncs, and switch off Clay webhooks that push to them.
- Run both in parallel for two weeks on one segment before cancelling.
- Compare meetings or replies per hundred prospects, not rows enriched.
