LinkedIn buying signal tools: an honest comparison for 2026

A fair comparison of LinkedIn buying signal tools in 2026: what each one tracks, who it suits, and how to turn LinkedIn intent into conversations.

By the GTM Plays teamUpdated 6 min read

LinkedIn buying signal tools watch public LinkedIn activity, such as engagement with competitors and topics, company-page follows and job changes, and turn it into a list of people worth contacting now. The right tool depends on whether you just want the signal, or want it scored against your ICP and turned into outreach.

This comparison covers the main options in 2026. Every vendor description is summarised from the vendor's own website, checked in October 2026 and linked inline. We make GTM Plays, one of the tools listed, and we say so plainly. We've tried to describe every tool fairly and to say where each one is the better fit.

What counts as a LinkedIn buying signal?

LinkedIn is unusually rich in public intent. The signals most tools track fall into four groups:

  • Engagement: likes, comments and reposts on posts from your competitors, from creators in your space, or on topics you solve.
  • Follows: people following a competitor's company page, or yours.
  • Change: job changes, promotions, new leaders in a team, and hiring in a function you serve.
  • Attention: profile views and company-page visits, where the platform exposes them.

Our buying signals guide explains how to rank and stack these signals. In short, prefer person-level, recent and problem-specific signals over broad account-level ones.

How we compared the tools

We looked at five things:

  1. Signal coverage: which LinkedIn signals the tool tracks, and whether it adds non-LinkedIn signals.
  2. ICP filtering: whether it scores or filters people against your ideal customer profile.
  3. Action: whether it only alerts you, or also helps you reach out.
  4. Where data goes: CRM, Slack, sequencers or its own inbox.
  5. Fit: the team size and use case each one suits.

The tools

GTM Plays

What it is: an AI outbound agent for LinkedIn. It finds people showing intent signals, such as engagement with your competitors and with the topics you solve. It scores each prospect for fit against your ICP, then writes and sends a personalised LinkedIn message from your own LinkedIn account. Replies land in one inbox, where you take over.

Best for: founders and small B2B teams who want signals turned into conversations without stitching several tools together.

Trade-offs: it is built for LinkedIn outreach, not for analysing community or product-usage data. It does not book meetings for you. Once someone replies, the conversation is yours.

Pricing: Pro is $149 a month, with a 7-day free trial. Extra agents are $59 a month.

For one-off lists, GTM Plays also has Live Leads, which extracts a company page's followers or a post's engagers. It is paid per lead with credits and is separate from the Pro plan.

Teamfluence

What it is: according to its site, Teamfluence collects LinkedIn likes, comments, profile visits and company-page follows, and tracks engagement on competitor posts you choose. It adds AI qualification against your ICP and workflows to act on what it finds. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia.

Best for: teams who want detailed monitoring of LinkedIn engagement around their own and their competitors' content.

Trade-offs: it is mainly a monitoring and qualification layer. Check how outreach fits your stack.

Common Room

What it is: Common Room describes itself as "buyer intelligence". It combines signals from many sources with a contact directory of 400M+ people, and integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Outreach and 50+ other tools.

Best for: teams with meaningful community, product-usage or web signals who want everything in one view, LinkedIn included.

Trade-offs: it is broader than LinkedIn, which is a strength if you have many sources and more platform than you need if LinkedIn is your main channel.

UserGems

What it is: UserGems focuses on contact-level signals. It lists 30+ native signals, including job changes, intent, website visits, mergers and acquisitions, and hiring, with CRM integrations.

Best for: teams whose best leads come from champions and past users changing jobs.

Trade-offs: job-change and account signals are its centre of gravity, rather than LinkedIn post engagement.

LinkedIn Sales Navigator

What it is: LinkedIn's own sales product. According to LinkedIn, it offers 50+ search filters and lead and account alerts. The Advanced and Advanced Plus plans add Buyer Intent signals and a "Who viewed my company page" filter.

Best for: account research and keeping track of saved leads and accounts, on LinkedIn's own terms.

Trade-offs: signals stay inside Sales Navigator, and LinkedIn restricts exporting data from it. See Sales Navigator alternatives.

Valley

What it is: Valley runs LinkedIn and email outreach written in your voice, driven by signal-based plays. According to its site, one seat is one LinkedIn account.

Best for: teams who want signal-led outreach across both LinkedIn and email.

What about Trigify?

Trigify was a popular LinkedIn signal tool. On 23 September 2026 it announced that its team is joining HubSpot. The standalone platform is being retired, and standard access ended on 22 October 2026. Accounts are not being migrated to HubSpot. Our Trigify alternatives page covers how to replace it.

Pairing LinkedIn signals with website signals

LinkedIn signals tell you who is interested in your category. Website-visitor tools tell you who is looking at you. Many teams run one of each. RB2B identifies website visitors, with person-level identification for US traffic only, according to its site. Leadfeeder by Dealfront identifies visiting companies and lists 40+ buying signals, and is built and hosted in the EU. Neither is a LinkedIn tool, but a visitor who also engaged with a competitor's post last week is a strong stacked signal.

Comparison table

Tool LinkedIn engagement signals Other signals ICP filtering Acts on the signal
GTM Plays Yes Change signals such as new roles Scores every prospect against your ICP Writes and sends LinkedIn messages; replies in one inbox
Teamfluence Likes, comments, profile visits, follows, competitor posts - AI ICP qualification Workflows
Common Room Yes, among many sources Community, product, web and more Yes Routes to CRM, Slack and sales tools
UserGems - 30+ including job changes, intent, web visits, hiring Yes CRM integrations
Sales Navigator Alerts; Buyer Intent on Advanced plans Company-page visitors on Advanced plans Search filters Inside LinkedIn
Valley Signal plays - - LinkedIn and email outreach

A dash means the vendor's site did not make this clear when we checked, not that the feature is definitely missing.

How to choose

Ask three questions:

  1. What do you do after the signal? If the answer is "send a LinkedIn message", choose a tool that does that well, or you will spend your time copying data between tools.
  2. How many signal sources do you really have? If LinkedIn is your main channel, a LinkedIn-native tool is simpler. If you have community, product and web data too, an aggregator earns its keep.
  3. Who will review the output? Signals produce false positives. Make sure someone checks fit and reads messages, especially in the first weeks.

Getting value from any signal tool

  • Start with two or three signals. Pick the ones that preceded your recent deals.
  • Filter hard. A signal from someone outside your ICP is noise.
  • Act within days. Signals decay fast.
  • Reference the signal lightly. Mention the shared context, offer something useful, and never recite someone's activity back to them.
  • Measure by signal type. Keep the signals that produce positive replies and drop the rest.

Done well, LinkedIn signal tools let you contact fewer people with better timing. That is the whole point of signal-based selling.
